Mission
ECM is church planting in Maastricht. We are also intending to begin church planting in other Dutch towns and cities. The office of ECM Netherlands is situated in Deventer, home to 35 Dutch missionaries working throughout Europe.

ECM longs for…
Numbers on secularization are more insightful in the Netherlands than in most other countries. In Spain and Italy, for example, being a member of a church is part of everyday life, but in the Netherlands almost half the population identifies itself as non-religious.

This huge change has occurred only in the recent past – within the last few decades. But there is reason for hope. People are still looking for answers and young people in particular tend to think differently than their parents. Unlike their parents, young people of today do not automatically reject religion out of hand.

ECM hopes that the many existing churches, together with the newly-founded congregations, can be a growing witness, so that Dutch people today can discover God’s liberating gospel.
